The problems that actually come up, grouped by what you are trying to do. Where the honest answer is that something cannot be fixed from our side, it says so.

Starting a call

Nothing happens when I tap start

The browser is almost certainly holding the camera permission. Check the address bar for a blocked-camera icon and allow it, then reload. On iOS, Safari asks once per site and remembers a refusal, so you may need to clear the permission in Settings rather than in the page.

My camera works elsewhere but not here

Another tab or app usually still holds it. Video call apps in particular keep the camera claimed after you close the window. Quit them fully and reload the page.

Do I need an account before the first call?

No. The first call runs without sign-up. An account only matters if you want a conversation to survive past the session.

Matching

The match is taking a long time

Matching runs against people who are online at that second, so the wait tracks the hour rather than the site. The pool is deepest in the evening and overnight in the Americas, and thinnest during Latin American mornings. Waiting a few hours does more than retrying does.

I keep getting matched with the same person

That happens when the live pool is small, usually during off-peak hours. Skipping again will normally clear it; if it persists, the pool is genuinely thin at that moment.

Can I choose a country or a language?

No, and this is deliberate. Filters need a large pool to work against, and applying them to a live-presence pool would leave you matching with nobody. Most people you meet speak Spanish first and English second.

Safety and reporting

How do I report someone?

Use the report control inside the call. It works without ending the call first, and reports are reviewed around the clock rather than on a business-hours queue.

What is worth reporting?

A second person in frame, video that does not react to what you say, anyone asking you to move to another app or send money, and anyone who appears to be under 18. That last one is reviewed ahead of everything else.

Is my call recorded?

Not by us. Uhmingle does not record calls and ships no recording feature, so there is no archive of your calls to request or leak. We cannot prevent the other person from filming their own screen with a second device, which is why reporting matters.

Can someone else join my call?

No. A match is a closed two-person connection with no room around it and no viewer slot to occupy.

Billing

What costs money?

The first call is free. Paid options exist for unlimited matching. Nothing is charged before you choose to buy, and there is no trial that converts silently.

How do I stop being charged?

Manage it from your wallet and settings once signed in. If a charge appears that you did not authorise, raise it through your payment provider as well, since they can act faster than we can on a disputed transaction.

Still stuck

If the answer is not here, the community guidelines cover what is and is not allowed and what happens after a report. The privacy policy covers what data is collected and how to have it removed.
